Long Range Acoustic Device

The Long Range Acoustic Device fills a critical capability gap that was exposed after the USS COLE attack in October 2000.

The LRAD provides safe standoff warnings to unintentional trespassers and crowds that could result in threatening shipping or critical infrastructure such as:

• Accidental Intruders are the majority of offenders who may include fishing boats or curious people that inadvertently get close enough to pose a threat.
• Non-Dedicated Harassers include protestors who want to contest the published and posted restrictions but are not committed to violent actions.
• Committed Terrorists including those who attacked the USS Cole in Oct 2000.

LRAD is profound new technology that communicates with a beam forming
directional acoustic array.
